Women's health, Hospital Outpatients
The Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit (EPAU) assists in the management of women experiencing bleeding in early pregnancy. Approximately 1 in 5 women experience bleeding in early pregnancy with most of these pregnancies continuing with no further problems. However sometimes bleeding may be a sign of pregnancy loss.
The EPAU is a separate clinic and a referral is required from a GP or doctor in the ED before an appointment can be given.
