A Health Promotion Officer is available Monday - Friday and provides health assessments and referrals, chronic disease education and management and health promotion. A Community Midwife is available every Tuesday and Wednesday and provides health assessments and check ups on expecting mothers and their babies, home visits for mothers and their babies up to 10 days of age, child growth and development check ups, immunisations, information and referrals. A Primary Health Care Nurse from CheckUP Outreach Services is available every Monday and Tuesday and provides health assessments and referrals, chronic disease education and management and the Know Your Numbers program. This program is a preventative health initiative developed by the Stroke Foundation to raise community awareness and detection of cardiovascular disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes. There are free blood pressure monitoring, stroke and type 2 diabetes risk assessments. Also information on leading a healthy lifestyle is available including referrals when required. Physical activity/rehabilitation programs are available every second Thursday by visiting Exercise Physiologist. It is available for the whole community to reduce the prevalence and burden of chronic disease. These programs are aimed at all levels of fitness, age and mobility. A referral from your GP, Physiotherapist or RPHS staff is required.
