A Minor Injury and Illness Clinic operates at Tugun Satellite Health Centre(Banyahrmabah), from 8:00am to 10:00pm, seven days a week. The clinic will provide walk-in urgent care for illnesses and injuries not anticipated to be life-threatening in nature.
The clinic will also provide medical imaging and diagnostic services, including X-ray, and pathology.
Patients with non-urgent needs should first contact their usual GP where possible.
Service exclusions:
- provide complex and/or emergency care
- provide ongoing or continuous care for a condition
- treat infants less than 24 months of age
- provide care for pregnancy/late pregnancy
- treat trauma
- Assess or manage chest pain/syncope
- Head injuries
- Investigate abdominal pain
- Assess or manage anaphylaxis
- provide any mental health services or manage behavioural or intoxicated patients
- provide health care services unrelated to a minor injury or illness (eg vaccinations, scripts for chronic conditions requiring continuity of care, counselling for lifestyle risk factors, medical certificates, exemption certificates)
- dispense medications unless immediately required for care of minor injury or illness
- complete COVID testing, vaccinations or exemption certificates
- Stomal care/medical device troubleshooting
