Pregnancy Assessment Centre
Women's health, Hospital Outpatients
Located at Mater Mothers’ Hospitals in South Brisbane, Queensland’s first purpose-built 24/7 Pregnancy Assessment Centre (PAC) provides care for women from the very beginning of pregnancy until six weeks after their baby has been born.
Mater’s PAC is located adjacent to Birth Suite on Level 5 and provides care and assessment for both private and publicly-funded women at any gestation. If you are a private patient you will have access to a separate lounge area.
The service is available to assess your pregnancy related concerns from day one of your pregnancy. However, the PAC is not a general practice clinic, antenatal clinic or general emergency department and only delivers care for pregnancy related concerns.
For concerns not related to your pregnancy please contact your GP or if urgent present to your local emergency department. In an emergency situation you should always call 000 for an ambulance.
The unit arranges care in the same way as hospital emergency departments, by using a triage process to prioritise women according to their individual situation. Referrals and appointments are not essential. Women are able to access the support of obstetric, medical and allied health professionals as required.
Charging Options: Determined by the type of care you will receive and whether patients are booking in to birth at Mater Mothers or not.
