Centacare FNQ is the social services agency of the Catholic Diocese of Cairns. We provide a range of community services across Far North Queensland with bases in Cairns, Atherton, and Cooktown. Our services are based on three core activities: Mental Health and Wellbeing, Aged Care and Disability, and Multicultural Services (migrants and refugees). Mental Health and Wellbeing services include: • Counselling for individuals, families and children. • Resilience Coaching for people living with a mental illness. • NDIS Support Coordination for people with a disability, linking people to appropriate supports as identified in their NDIS plans. • Employee Assistance Program for employees of organisations with an agreement with Centacare FNQ to enable access to confidential counselling support. Multicultural Services include: • Assisting newly arrived migrants and humanitarian entrants with a broad range of settlement needs • Community Development and activities for people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities (migrants and refugees). Aged Care and Disability support is offered through the Social Wellbeing Hub, which offers: • NDIS services • Centre-based social support for eligible aged/frail people

Eligibility

No referral required. Appointment required. No waiting list. Call to discuss prior to making appointment
Mental Health and Wellbeing services eligibility: • Counselling - self referral or GP referral for individual and families. Children under 14 will need their parent or guardian's consent. • Resilience Coaching - People experiencing severe and persistent mental illness • NDIS services - People wishing to access the NDIS or people with NDIS plans. • Employee Assistance Program for employees of organisations with an agreement with Centacare FNQ to enable access to confidential counselling support. Multicultural Services eligibility: • Newly arrived migrants and humanitarian entrants • Community Development can be accessed by people from a culturally and linguistically diverse communities (migrants and refugees). Aged Care and Disability support is offered through the Social Wellbeing Hub, eligibility: • Day respite and social support, to those over 65 years referred through My Aged Care. • NDIS services such as social support, to those under 65 years with a disability.
