Queensland Youth and Families Support Services (Formerly known as Goodna Youth Services) is a Not for Profit Organisation based at Goodna, supporting Young People and their families. We provide information, advice and referral, family support, housing support, homeless support, community support and emergency relief in the way of food parcels, bakery, fruit and hot meals.
Our housing program provides Transitional Housing for up to 12 months for young people aged from 16 - 25years. We assist our young people to engage in education or work, as well as providing them education in life skills, budgeting, cooking and cleaning etc.
We also support the homeless in the community by providing them with food, sleeping bags, hygiene packs and offer assistance in finding accommodation. We also provide a free 2-day training course in tenancy skills. The certificate helps when applying for a rental property.
The Youth Support Program provides support and case management to young people aged
10 - 21 years living in Goodna and the surrounding areas including Ipswich and Rosewood. The Youth Support team work very closely with schools and provide case management for youth who are disengaging from education. Through case management Workers focus on supporting these young people to re-engage and/or re-commit to their education by addressing the barriers that have led to their disengagement from school.
Our office is a place where clients and community can come and have a shower, get something to eat or drink and find support.
