Monto provides healthcare services to acute and some long-term clients. The Monto Health Service provides a range of hospital services, including emergency, outpatients, acute and aged care, paediatrics, palliative care, general medicine, video-conferencing, Lighten up program, radiology and pathology. Monto is staffed by nursing and medical specialists along with visiting oral, allied and community health staff. Construction has commenced on the new Monto Private Practice Medical Centre that will be located on the Monto Hospital site. The project is a joint initiative between Central Queensland Rural Division of General Practice and Queensland Health. Clinics available to the Monto community include foot, antenatal (by request), child health and immunisation. Telehealth services are available for linking with other facilities via video-conference for patients. Mobile laptop equipment is also used for ward rounds.
