As a Child & Family Therapist, and Senior Social Worker with over 20 years experience, I have specialised in trauma recovery and mental health and provide counselling to children, young people, adults, couples and families. I've had the privilege of supporting people seeking recovery and change; and have championed them achieving therapy goals. Most recently, I worked with Mater Health leading an allied health, multi-disciplinary team supporting young people and families with problem substance use and mental health concerns. I also worked as a counsellor, supporting children, young people and families with trauma, problem sexual behaviours and a range of developmental disorders.
I have been a prac-ademic since 2006, lecturing at university, curriculum writing and delivering workshops. I enjoy mentoring and providing clinical supervision to social workers and counsellors; and continue to provide specialist consulting services to organisations across Qld.
I have an integrative approach that allows me to tailor the counselling to your individual needs and circumstances. I am a life-long learner and am trained in therapies that include, Solution Focused Strengths Based Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy, Family Structural Therapy, Trauma Recovery, EMDR, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Expressive Therapies, Psychoeducation, Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
