Arafmi is the peak body for unpaid mental health carers in Queensland, advocating for
systemic reforms to government and service providers. It also provides support services
to family members, kin, young carers, friends and other individuals who support someone
experiencing mental ill-health. These free services and programs include a 24-hour Carer
Support Line, individual and group support, workshops and respite accommodation.
Carer support services include:
• 24-hour Carer Support Line: 1300 554 660
• One on one tailored support
• Facilitated support groups (face to face and online)
• Workshops and information sessions (face to face and online)
• Culture Care – Support for multi-cultural carers in their language (in partnership with World Wellness Group)
• Carer related information, community linking and connection
• Carer respite accommodation in Teneriffe, Brisbane.
Arafmi’s office hours are Mon - Fri 8:30am to 4:30pm.
