Legal service, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health
We are committed to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to live free from family violence and/or sexual assault in the State of Queensland, Australia. We are a not-for-profit Legal Service that provides free culturally appropriate support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities suffering from the direct and indirect effects of family violence and sexual assault. We have adopted a holistic, wrap-around service delivery model that prioritise Legal Service delivery while recognising and addressing the interrelated non-legal issues. We are committed to providing a culturally sensitive, safe and accessible service.

Eligibility

No referral required. Appointment required. No waiting list.
You may be eligible for our services if 1. You or the child are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander 2. You are experiencing or have experienced family violence or sexual assault as the victim/survivors 3. Your matter is within our funded areas of law 4. You live within our funded service areas 5. There is no identified conflict, on you and all other parties involved. This is determined through an internal conflict of interest check. If we are unable to assist for some reason, we will refer you to support services that can.
