Community Health, Mental Health, Respite, Disability Service and Support Organisation
selectability is Palm Island’s only community mental health service.
Since opening in 2015, we have secured our position as a trusted non-clinical, culturally-safe wellbeing hub that has become part of the fabric of Palm Island. Regular yarning circles have proven to be an effective recovery tool to re-establish an individual’s connection to country, ancestry, family, spirituality and community elders. The introduction of contemporary recovery-oriented practices into our programs has delivered practical outcomes for the Palm Island community.
NDIS support coordination: We work closely with consumers to help them navigate the NDIS and interpret and maximise the value of individual packages.
NDIS community support (individual and group): Our Lifestyle Support Workers use a recovery-oriented, person-centred approach to help consumers build personal skills, develop relationships and improve their wellbeing.
