Entry to the mental health service is through the Access Team (Redland) from 0830 to 2100 hours weekdays, including public holidays, and 1000 to 2100 hours on weekends. After hours assessments are performed by the inpatient unit nursing staff in the Emergency Department at Redland Hospital. Triage, intake and assessment are facilitated through a single process of entry. Types of service: Intake and referral, Acute care response for all age groups, Continuing care using a case management approach, Community based treatment options for all age groups, Acute inpatient services (Yugaipa), including high dependency care, Alternative option to hospitalisation, Consumer companion program, Indigenous mental health program, Residential care for dual diagnosis, acquired brain injury and mental illness (Casuarina Lodge), Acute psychogeriatic care, Child and Youth community based mental health services. Adolescent admissions are referred to Logan Hospital. Forensic services: Dual Diagnosis services, Registrar training program.
