Tenancy advice, advocacy, referral, Homeless person's information, Accommodation
The STARH Ipswich Project works alongside individuals and families in Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Somerset and Scenic Rim regions to stabilize and keep their housing. STARH provides flexible support through a case management service that is tailored to each person’s needs. STARH workers, where possible will provide mobile support either within people’s homes or at another safe location. We work with people who have their own housing (e.g. private rental, social or community housing, home ownership, boarding house or caravan parks), but are at risk of losing their housing.
People at risk of losing their housing may be experiencing one or more of the following:
• Reduction of hours in employment or loss of employment
• Financial stress, debt and unforeseen financial hardship
• Tenancy issues (Notice to Remedy or Leave)
• Physical and/or mental health concerns
• Relationship or family breakdown
• Social isolation
• Unsafe or unstable housing.
STARH workers assist people to:
• Stabilize and keep their housing
• Provide information, advice, planning and support
• Link to supports in the community
• Develop life and household management skills
• Strengthen connections with family and community.
