The Department of Housing plays an important role in providing direct and indirect housing assistance, and in influencing the overall housing system within Queensland to improve people's lives through housing and community renewal. Available services include: Public housing; Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Housing; Emergency Housing; Bond Loans; Community Housing Programs (works in partnership with not-for-profit organisations and local governments to provide community-based solutions to local housing need); Home modification assistance; Rental Grants; and Community Renewal (a Queensland Government initiative, delivered in partnership between State and local governments, business, residents and the community sector to deliver projects that improve people's lives in selected Queensland communities)
