Bowen Collinsville Family Day Care Scheme is a not-for-profit incorporated association providing family-based day care for children in the Bowen and Collinsville region. Educators are registered with the scheme and operate as private contractors. Family Day Care is a unique and highly flexible childcare service providing quality care for children in the homes of Family Day Care Educators. In Family Day Care, children learn through play and exploration and participate in activities planned by the carer to suit each child's individual needs. Children benefit from Family Day Care by: Security and consistency of one Educator and the familiarity of a family environment; Learning through play and exploration in a small group; Social interact with mixed age groups in family settings; Children learn tolerance and acceptance of families with different cultures, lifestyles and needs; Children are placed according to their individual needs, not according to their age; Access to organised play sessions, outings and other events that allow children to interact and socialise in larger groups and the broader community.
