Mental Health
The Rockhampton Community Care Unit (CCU) is a community-based facility for mental health consumers who are in recovery but require additional support and life skills to successfully transition to independent community living. The CCU is a level 4 non-acute facility as outlined in the TUClinical HUServices Capability FrameworkUTH (CSCF). The service aims to promote an individual's recovery by providing opportunities that maximise their strengths and potential, with access to supported 24-hour health care and supervised residential rehabilitation. Clinical interventions and life skill development or enhancement is provided by a multidisciplinary service for consumers who require medium to long term mental health care and rehabilitation.
The CCU will offer an opportunity for residents to learn or re-learn living skills to achieve their potential to develop their capabilities and develop the skills to enhance their levels of independence and community integration. The clinical and rehabilitation support teams support residents to enhance, acquire and maintain living skills that will increase their capacity and confidence to function within the community.
