Nurse-led walk-in clinics offer free treatment to all adults and children aged over 2 years for non-life-threatening injuries, illnesses and common health concerns. The clinics, which will improve access to healthcare for the local community, are open for extended hours every day of the week, and no bookings or referrals are required. Services are free, even if you don't have a Medicare card. Anyone who requires care beyond the clinic’s capabilities will be referred promptly to the most appropriate service, such as an emergency department, general practitioner, rapid access clinic or mental health service. Queenslanders can walk in and receive clinical assessment, treatment and advice from qualified nursing staff about common health concerns, such as: fevers, coughs and colds earache, tonsils and sore throats infections and rashes minor eye issues minor cuts and burns minor head injuries strains and sprains gastroenteritis urinary tract infections. Women-focused health services will also be available, such as: Women’s health concerns contraception, including emergency contraception advice on period and menopause support and referrals for women experiencing domestic, family or sexual violence.
