Disability Service and Support Organisation
Pioneer State High School Special Education Unit - Students with a disability often require educational adjustments to be made within the curriculum so that they can participate in the life of the school. For some students this means that they may attend alternate classes, while others may access all or part of the regular curriculum. For those students requiring an alternate program, some subjects can be studied through the Special Education Unit. These subjects are designed specifically for the individual needs of the students in those classes, and will therefore vary each year. Subjects in the SEU include: Essential English; Essential Mathematics; Everyday Living Skills/Social Program; and Tutorial
