The Toowoomba Hospital Post-Operative Discharge Support Service (PODSS), is a nurse-led rapid access virtual care service supporting patients with their low acuity surgical concerns, up to 30 days post hospital discharge. The PODSS nurses work closely with the patient's General Practitioner (GP) and do not take over the role of usual GP care. Typically, the PODSS nurses support post-operative patients with concerns related to: • Wounds, dressings • Cast / fracture concerns • Early infections • Unmanaged pain • Medication management queries • Post-op instructions • Post-operative bowel and bladder dysfunction Inclusion criteria: 1. Patient clinically stable and safe to be managed as an outpatient (Does not require Emergency Department level care), 2. Post-operative patient incluidng paediatric Orthopaedic patients, 30 days post acute care discharge, 3. Patient's call concern relates to index operation. 4. Surgery speciality is: General Surgery, Colorectal, Orthopaedics, Plastics Exclusion criteria: • ENT, urology, dental, gynaecology, paediatric patients for specialities other than Orthopaedics
