The Child and Youth Mental Health Service provides a specialised mental health service for children and young people from birth to 18 years who are experiencing severe and complex emotional, behavioural or mental health problems. Referral to the service can be made by professionals and agencies that work with children and young people, including general practitioners, guidance officers, etc. In situations of acute need, young people, their parents or carers may contact the service directly. The service seeks to work collaboratively with other agencies to meet the needs of its target groups. Referrals can be made by contacting the Intake Officer, Child and Youth Mental Health Service

Referrals can be made by GPs, health professionals, schools, Child Safety, Government and non-government agencies, as well as by general family and carers and the consumer.
