Advocacy Service
Provision of Tenancy Advice and Advocacy for residential tenants (renters) and hostel residents. Disability Advocacy.
Providing a 25-hour per week telephone advice and advocacy service. Advocacy on behalf of tenants with lessors or real estate agents. Support in advocating for tenants by providing information and assistance to prepare and feel confident about their case; and TAAS's services are available to tenants in the residential rental market and to public housing tenants. Other people seeking information or referral may also be assisted. The types of issues usually raised include: notices to leave; getting bonds back; getting repairs done; privacy/intrusion by lessors or agents; and making claims through the Queensland Civil Administration Tribunal (QCAT) . TAAS may help tenants to find appropriate housing through information and referral. PLEASE NOTE: TAAS does not provide accommodation services or services to home owners, home buyers, owners or real estate agents or landlords.
