Mental Health
The Acute Mental Health Unit (AMHU) at the Toowoomba Hospital offers short term admissions in a structured environment to monitor and manage a person's mental state more closely during episodes of acute illness. This contemporary unit comprises 51beds in two wings - Jarrowair Wing inclusive of a high dependency unit (adults ~ 18 to 65 years), and Bamal Wing (for adults, but predominantly older persons above 65 years).
