The Queensland Eating Disorder Service (QuEDS) offer adult services including: 1) Statewide guidelines; 'A Guide to Admission and Inpatient Treatment for Patients with Eating Disoders in Queensland' 2) QuEDS Specialist Consultation Clinic (based at the RBWH, with telehealth to Rockhampton) 3) QuEDS Day Program (8 weeks, 4 days per week attendance) includes therapeutic groups and supported meals facilitated by a specialised multidisciplinary team. (Four intake periods per year occur for these programs; approx. March, June, October and December. For over 16yo only.) 4) Two types of evidenced based Individual Outpatient Therapy; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Enhanced (CBT-E) and Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM) 5) A phone line for calls from people affected by eating disorders, treating teams, and/or individual practitioners - Ph (07) 3114 0809 6) Education and training for health professionals (contact QuEDSeducation@health.qld.gov.au) (Note: We recommend that concerned family and friends contact Eating Disorders Queensland (EDQ) by phone on (07) 3844 6055, for additional community services and support. They can also contact ED HOPE (Ph 1800 33 4673) to chat via phone or online to experienced counsellors professionally trained in supporting those affected by an eating disorder and can also provide information and guidance on treatment options.)

This clinic provides diagnostic clarification and treatment advice. It is available to people with all eating disorder types and BMI ranges. QuEDS Referral form required, to be completed by the GP. Bulk Billing Available Attending this clinic is voluntary with no out of pocket expense for Medicare card holders. If you do not hold a Medicare card please feel free to contact QuEDS for further information (i.e. international students often have no out of pocket expense under private health cover).
